Guillermo Ortiz - Governor of the Bank of Mexico

In January of 1998. He was ratified as Governor for another six-year term beginning in January 2004. From December 1994 to December 1997, Dr. Ortiz served as Secretary of Finance and Public Credit in the Mexican Federal Government. Prior to heading the Finance Ministry, he served briefly as Secretary of Communications and Transportation at the outset of the Zedillo ́s Administration..El 12 de enero de 2009 fue nombrado presidente del Banco de Pagos Internacionales (BIS, por sus siglas en inglés) con sede en Basilea Suiza, máximo cargo que se le ha distinguido a cualquier latinoamericano en dicha institución..Desde el 1o. de marzo de 2011 es Presidente del Consejo Administración de Grupo Financiero Banorte, en sustitución de Roberto González Barrera que queda como Presidente Vitalicio.
